U15's - Coach Simon Wright
2024 was a mixed season for the U15’s.
We won about half our matches, but that doesn’t tell the
whole tale. Within the squad we have a wide range of abilities and I endeavoured to use as much
of the squad as possible throughout the season. What was especially encouraging was that so
many of the under 15’s squad played adult cricket last year for the 2’s, 3’s and Tarka Ladies - by
my count there were 9 across all the teams. There were many excellent performances throughout
the year with bat and ball and in the field, but the greatest thing for me was seeing how they
worked together as a team and the camaraderie between them all.
Congratulations to Noah Tovell and Freddie Tucker on their selection for the Devon U15’s Tour to
South Africa which takes place at the end of October and, as mentioned elsewhere, the three girls
(Issy, Rebecca and Megan) who went on the Devon U15 Girls’ Tour to Sri Lanka in February this
year.
