NDCC JUNIORS 2024 SEASON REPORT
Looking back at the 2024 season my overriding memory is that the weather just wasn’t very kind
to us. Despite that we had some fantastic cricket at all the age groups and the junior section
continues to go from strength to strength.
North Devon Juniors 2024
One of my main objectives as junior chair wasn’t necessarily on the field, but was about enlisting
more volunteers at all levels to spread the load of running of the junior section as widely as
possible. I am pleased to say that I was over the moon with the help and support I received
throughout the season. We had a huge number of volunteers doing many different jobs, many of
whom were helping out for the first time. I would like to say a massive thank you to each and
every one of you. You have literally been the backbone of the junior section; you were the ones
doing the registrations at training, preparing the food, serving the drinks, collecting up the lost
property, cleaning the glasses away, and many, many more jobs...
This is also the time for my annual plea for more helpers, we always need more. I will be
arranging a recruitment meeting at the start of the season.
NDCC is blessed by the amount of qualified coaches we have and the quality of the coaching
they provide. It makes my job a lot easier to have so many committed coaches who are prepared
to give up their time, sometimes for multiple nights each week. We have been blessed with the
help of Merv Jones who has provided help with the overall coaching program for the juniors and
helping with coach education. He also provided many 1:1’s to work on specific developmental
aims with individuals across the club.
I have left it to the coaches to explain a bit about last season and their hopes for the 2025
season.
