CLUB CAPTAIN’S REPORT
Welcome to all players , members and patrons to the 2025 season at North Devon CC.
Growing up I used to rush down at any opportunity to come and watch the Overtons, Tom Allin ,
Glenn Querl, Dan Bowser et al on a Saturday afternoon in their 2011 Premier League titlewinning season. Maybe we don’t possess the international talent of that side, but we have
some great young players and it is down to this group to cement a place in the premier division
now and be the team that locals want to come and watch.
The hard work we put in in 2024 will only hold us in good stead for the forthcoming season.
Every game presented a different situation for us to encounter and we found different ways to
score runs, take wickets and win games week in week out.
We welcome back Roshan Lakmal to our squad for the season ahead and I personally couldn’t
be happier. Everyone associated with the club knows how much of a positive impact Roshan
made to not only the playing side but also the juniors. Please do make your best efforts to
ensure Roshan fits in and enjoys his experience once again.
As a squad, we are fully aware that the season ahead will be a tougher challenge than the last.
However , with the talent in the squad and the support of you all on the boundary edge, we
have the potential to be successful in the 2025 season and beyond. I’m looking forward to
seeing you all around the club over the next 6 months and hopefully we can repay your support
with a few 20 pointers.
